The Big Dummy is on its way, but check out our other fine delivery vehicle...

The original Surly Steamroller prototype, circa 2000, has been reborn with a Cetma Rack and some gnarly old-school (circa late 80's?) SR MTN bars.

Haulin' cookies...

Early Monday morning, 25 February. Foggy mountain breakdown...

Lamont, I'm Having the Big One...

Sir Jon Fleck, Esq. dropped by the Cykel Garage today with his newly assembled Surly Big Dummy. Damn, those things are cool, and it's just a matter of weeks before the 20" size arrives. And by 20" size I really mean "my" size. Ahem. But I digress. [edit: 20"s just arrived in stock at Qube Farm. Mine is ordered and will be picked up manana; woo-hoo!] This is Fleck's first foray into the longbike. He says he digs it, but that it took a boatload of Framesaver to coat those tubes. I believe him.

"Grady, pass me some more ripple..."

The pink Chris King headset is a nice touch, and adds a bit of color to the behemoth. "It's such a dark bike," sez Fleck. Is he talking about its soul?

A man and his machine.

Hey Foxes, it's Frostbike Weekend. And what better way to rip it up with cycling luminaries from around the country, globe, world, than drink and revel at the epicenter of Mpls. Bike Culture? No better way, I say.

Bikes, Bikes, Bikes

Well, the On One Inbred is gone, as is the 59cm Steamroller, but come on down and check out the latest hot-rods at the Cykel Garage:

Late 80's/Early 90's (?) 58cm Schwinn Voyageur Touring Bike w/56cm top tube.
Made in Japan by Bridgestone, for Schwinn, this bike has 27" wheels with new Club Roost Cross Terra tires (27 x 1 3/8") and would make and excellent touring rig or all day gravel grinder. This thing is in IMMACULATE condition. Forest Green paint.
$450

I can't believe no one has bought this sweet gem: 1988 RB-2. 53cm c-c, 53cm top tube. Pretty sweet condition, right dowwwn to the bio-pace chainrings. If this doesn't sell by the end of next week, it's getting converted to fixed gear, and the price will go up to prove it. Right now: $350.

Happy Nü Metal Year Everybody.

Minneapolis Park Board Want you to PAY to ride trails at Theo Wirth

Some disturbing info just in from Gentle Stove:

"The Mpls Park & Rec approved their 2008 budget last night, which included an addition of a yearly fee for anyone who rides off-road at Theo Wirth. The fee will benefit the Park & Rec Board, rather than MORC, which maintains the trails. Just thought I'd pass the word on. There will be a meeting on December 11th at 5:05 in which the public can speak out on the budget's contents.

The budget's final approval takes place December 12th.

The Saturday Morning HC (Hard Corpse) Ride Showed up today...

All the Way Chesterfield, and his band of Merry Pranksters graced our presence today. Conversation became heated immediately, with Ray loudly claiming no allegiance to any one outfit, while daftly waving his Revolution Cycles headwear around. Buying on credit, pink gloves, brown bikes, and olive branches were among the heated topics. There was lots of sponsorship talk, but no concrete offers were tendered in this contentious meeting. Oddly, Randonee Rosenberg was absent.

Look at all of the fancy iron on this ride. It's amazing that Rollo was allowed to accompany them. Must be a testament to the power of Ray's (& Rollo's) personality...

Could all that mud be from Rosenberg's bike, roosting past Ray in an aborted bid for DFL?
