My man Terry Brashear strolled into the shop one day with this Schwinn Volare frameset. I'd never heard of it, but sure did like it's pointy chrome lugs and tangerine metal flake paint job. Seems these were the "Japanese Paramounts" and only made from 1977 - 1978. Terry wanted a sweet fixed gear, and he got one. Rare for a 70's era frame are the vertical dropouts. Of course, they were no match for some sweet White Industries ENO eccentric hubs...

Really nice bike, and even better Tom Wolfe reference - that's one of my favorite books. Keep up the good work!
John.
That guy must have some tough hands, no bar tape.
Who is this "comment deleted" person? They like to make comments here :-P
Hurl - this bike is so sweet it just make me want to break out in song......."Volare......whoooa....oooh....Volare.
Can't wait to decide on the bar tape - I think the orange recommendation was a good idea.

black or orange tape would really push it over the edge.
