I'd like to announce that the CRC Coffee Bar will be closing its doors for the last time on Friday, March 25, 2011. Many factors lead to this decision, and now it is time for the next adventure in my life. I'd like to thank all of the remarkable friends & customers of CRC-many who've become friends- for your generous support & encouragement throughout the past 5 years. Rest assured that Cars-R-Coffins as a brand is not going anywhere, and will continue to support the local cycling scene. I also encourage all of you to continue to "support your local independent anything" & especially all of our friends on 34th & Lyndale. I'll see you on two wheels.

the early days.
In 2009 the City of Minneapolis tore up Lyndale Avenue and for over 6 months of prime-time season, left us with this for our sidewalk. Still charged us for a Sidewalk Cafe License though....

A very sad day.
Best of luck in future endeavors.
Son-
Sad to hear this news. That means no more "Tues is the new Fri". You must be getting into the pro racing circuit then, hmmm? Thanks for the great memories but for certain there are many more to come.
Sad news man. Glad I got to see it & smell it at least once. Onward!

Sad news Hurl! Wishing you the best.
I am very sad to about this. Thanks for some good coffee/bike shop times.
Good luck in where ever your adventures lead you. We recommend more guitar. Come visit often! - Your pals at Twin Town
bummer! Best of luck though! Nothing but good experiences there.
My children 9 and 11 sense the magic of your shop. We appreciate CRC.
Very Sorry!!! You really had a cool concept going. Hope you open up a new place soon!
Sorry I didn't buy more coffee. Really sorry I didn't buy that Salsa La Raza you had hanging in your shop a few years ago.
Hurl,
I was counting on you being too busy at the café this year to be able to get to all the gravel road races and then it would be all mine!
Crap.
Don't think I'm gonna start training. I'll just go back to settlin' into the back half of the pack.
Your awesome and you have accomplished much. Congrats on that.
Luke
BTW: Derek & I are planning another 24 hour/300+ miler this summer. You in?
Minneapolis institution. will be missed.
Sad to see the shop go, but I'm really happy to see that the CRC brand will live on. I remember getting my first CRC shirt a long time ago and still cherish it.
This is terrible news! My first trip to Minnesota, I borrowed a Brompton and rode over to your infamous cafe. It was so totally boss. Really, it was amazing.
Here are our rented Bromptons:

Who the hell Shatner Boots???
I live in CO - so only made it in a couple of times over the years while visiting the in-laws in the twin cities...so much I could say...will limit it to: how much I'll miss a place where you can get a killer cup of coffee and a pop-tart in one stop. Thanks Hurl.
In my country, we say "cockshitfuckballs", and I say this to you now in sympathy. In my country we also say "balls forward" and I say this to you now in the hope you have future sexcess. I mean suxcess. I mean win.
Received this news all the way over in rural India via a friend in California. You will be dearly missed.. CRC has been my favorite 'office' in MN on my trips back for years. Wore my CRC t-shirt all around India last year on a motorcycle tour. Gone but definitely not forgotten. -Franz
Hurl,
I just walked over for a bowl of soup, and I'm devastated. So sorry to see the CRC shut down. I loved the presence you had in the neighborhood. All the best on your next adventure!
Hurl--
Thanks for your kindness and help with keeping my black Bridgestone running at top form. Thanks also for providing a place where our grandson could be surrounded by bikes and bike culture!
